Eamonn Dowd växte upp på landsbygden på västra delen av Irland, men tillbringade större
delen av sitt vuxna liv i Dublin. Han har målat sedan barnsben och har varit involverad i flera
utställningar genom åren. Han har också designat skivomslag och bidragit med illustrationer
till musik- och modemagasinet D-SIDE. Han studerade fri konst vid RTC i Galway, Irland
1981 - 1985.
Hans målningar är mestadels akryl på duk. Med ett livslångt intresse för irländsk och keltisk
mytologi behandlar han ofta teman av ockult natur och personlig myt. Ibland tas
representationsteman upp, men alla presenteras i en primitiv neoexpressionistisk stil.
Han är nu baserad i Göteborg, Sverige.

Eamonn Dowd grew up in rural west of Ireland, but spent most of his adult life in Dublin.
Studied Fine Art at the RTC in Galway, Ireland 1981 - 1985.
Painting since childhood, he has been involved in several exhibitions over the years, designed record sleeves, and contributed illustrations to the music and fashion magazine D-SIDE.
His paintings are mostly acrylic on canvas. With a lifelong interest in Irish and Celtic mythology he often deals with themes of an occult nature and personalized myth. Occasionally representational themes are taken on, yet all are presented in a primitive new expressionist style.
